The Keck Array is a CMB polarization experiment, part of a CMB polarization project including BICEP2. The experiment will consist of several microwave polarimeters located at the South Pole. The purpose of the experiment is to measure the B-modes (curl component) of the polarization of the cosmic microwave background radiation.[1]
Members of the scientific collaboration working on the Keck Array include Caltech, JPL, the University of Minnesota, Harvard University, the University of Chicago, Stanford University, Case Western Reserve, the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), the University of Toronto, and Cardiff University.
Three polarimeters will be deployed to the South Pole in December 2010, and two more a year later.
